This article will cover all the basic prompts that are simple to understand even for the complete AI newbie. Understanding these fields will allow you to easily get started on creating your very own characters with the simple version of our character creator tool.

Basic prompts consist of the character's Name, bio, personality, scenario, message example, first message and system Prompt.

Please pay attention to the bar at the top of your character creator screen. If the bar turns red, you've added too many words to your bio, scenario, and/or system prompt. Each LLM has unique limits to tokens that currently range from 4000 to 10000 tokens. Staying within the blue bar allows for more memory to be used for long-term chat memory and user messages. With this in mind, the less is more approach is often true when attempting to create the best characters possible.

Give your character a good and fitting name.

The bio is the most important prompt to realizing a new or existing character but it doesn't have to get complicated. 250 to 500 words is more than enough to provide accuracy and allow the AI to imagine the rest. You can separate unique sections for the character in parts like "Summary:", "Background:", "Likes and Dislikes:", "Childhood:", Appearance:", etc... Whatever you feel are key parts to their overall personality and existence. Below we'll do a bio example for Super Mario.

This prompt simply allows you to add words that best describe the character's personality. Each trait can be separated by a comma as in the example below.

The scenario is the heart of the scene you're creating and sets the tone for the beginning of the conversation. It's also something you can have a ton of fun getting creative with. Our example below is a silly scenario between you and Spider-Man and Pikachu. {{user}} can be used to refer to you and your persona.

To put it simply, it's like giving examples of how your character talks so the AI can understand their unique way of expressing themselves. Whether it's cheerful, grumpy, romantic, etc... It helps ensure that the AI captures the intended personality when generating messages for your character. We'll add an generic example below for an "Enthusiastic Scientist" using the formats of {{user}} {{char}} . should be the first line above the main text and should be the last line below the main text. {{user}} refers to your username/persona and {{char}} refers to the character's name. Character actions can be enclosed using asterisks like "* text *" or brackets like "[ text ]".

The first message sets the stage for the character's personality and how they communicate. The length, tone, and personality given off by this message directly impacts the conversation ahead.

The system prompt essentially serves as the instruction input of information that guides the model during the diffusion process. This field doesn't affect character creation in any important way so it can be left blank but it's helpful when you have something very specific you want to steer the final result towards. Keep in mind that the effectiveness of the system prompt may depend on the specific architecture of the diffusion model, the tasks you're performing, and the overall desired output. Experimentation and fine-tuning of the prompt may be necessary to achieve the desired results.
